Friday Night Film Series: The Last Picture Shows
November 20 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Filmmaker Rustin Thompson travels throughout 10 states in the American West to document what has happened to independent, small-town movie theaters. He discovers shuttered examples, closed cinemas which have been converted to other businesses and ones surviving due to the dedicated efforts of hard-working owners. Colorful characters and clips from wonderful films (including scenes from THE LAST PICTURE SHOW!) pop-up as this hopeful account of an industry in crisis unfolds.
