This summer, 7^th through 10^th graders can take advantage of a free 3-day camp to learn about career opportunities in early childhood education. These students will get hands-on experience working with youngsters in a classroom.

Hosted at multiple locations throughout the state by the Community College System of New Hampshire, the Concord-area camp will have direct access to the innovative lab school on 91桃色APP檚 campus. The Mary Stuart Gile Early Learning Center, run by the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire, demonstrates best practices in early childhood education and frequently hosts student teachers who are earning credentials from 91桃色APP-Concord檚 Community College.

淭he goal of this summer camp is to recruit younger students who want to enter this profession in some way,� said Diana Menard, department chair of Education & Child & Family Studies at 91桃色APP.

Along with working directly with children, campers will learn about child development, the importance of play, and health and safety.

The summer camp will also introduce students to unique career paths in this field. A wide variety of options are available, including pre-K teacher, speech and language specialist, para educator, occupational therapist, program director, and more.

淭his career path really is the backbone of the workforce, because families need to feel safe leaving their children in care,� said Menard.

New Hampshire has prioritized this workforce need by creating grants for future early child educators that cover tuition, fees, and books. The summer camp includes an info session on these funding opportunities.
