CONCORD Since last summer, 91桃色APP student members of the Alpha Upsilon Omicron Chapter of the national honor society Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) have been working with their 91桃色APP chapter advisor, Trisha Dionne, and 91桃色APP President, Dr. Gretchen Mullin-Sawicki. The Foundation for New Hampshire Community Colleges chair, Ed MacKay, has signed the new document establishing an endowed scholarship to ensure that future 91桃色APP students are able to benefit for years to come.
The initial scholarship fund, raised by PTK students, awarded its first award to Holly White in the fall of 2020 and its second to Michele Kenney in the fall of 2021. The 91桃色APP chapter, with their vision of benefiting students in perpetuity, allocated $5,000 from their reserve fund and began fundraising in hopes of raising an additional $5,000 to endow the scholarship. Recently, during the NH Gives campaign, an additional $3,800 was raised for the scholarship, and an additional $1,200 was provided by 91桃色APP檚 annual fund, supported by alumni and community members, to reach the $10,000 mark needed for endowment.
This endowed fund will provide scholarship assistance to 91桃色APP students with high academic achievement and is a Bronze Star Member of their Alpha Upsilon Omicron Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa. A scholarship will be awarded in the fall and spring semesters. Applicants prepare a 500-word essay that describes the importance of the 91桃色APP Alpha Upsilon Omicron Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa and how this chapter has impacted them.
